Cabling/Wireless
Infrastructure
We provide copper & fibre based cabling solutions either directly
or via a recommended third party depending upon the complexity of
the design, the type of building to be networked and the number
of ports to be fitted. In addition we provide the latest wireless
solutions offering complete scalability, flexibility combined with
reduced cost.
Types
of Infrastructure:
Copper
based
CAT5e & 6 Structured voice and data infrastructures provide
integrated voice and data providing complete flexibility within
the office. This copper-cored cabling can provide data transmission
speeds of upto 1GB where required.
Fibre optic
Fibre-optic cabling, though difficult to install, is now much cheaper
than it used to be. It provides the ultimate in security and reliability
of data transfer, and allows much longer cable runs than are allowed
with traditional copper cabling. It also allows separate buildings
to be cabled together safely. This has the advantage of complying
with government building regulations.
Wireless
Wireless technology has developed in terms of cost and performance
into a viable alternative to existing cable based infrastructure.
There are basically 2 standards currently available, these are 802.11b
and 802.11g, the ‘b’ standard runs at 11Mbps, whilst
the more recent ‘g’ standard can run at enhanced speeds
of upto 108Mbps. The different speeds achievable make wireless networking
suitable for most network applications and in addition these standards
have enhanced data encryption of upto 128-Bit for additional security. |
